The project of Basic Literacy Project (64 districts) in 4 upazilas of Bagerhat district will be implemented in Mongla, Chitalmari, Mollahat and Kachua upazilas. This program is being implemented in Mongla and Chitalmari upazilas at 1st level and in the second phase Mollahat and Kachua Upazilas will be brought under the project. Non-government organizations called Udayan Bangladesh Mongla and Mollahat upazila and Help, a non-government organization in Chitalmari upazila, concluded the survey. In Mongla upazila, 5315 men and 5504 women, total 10819 and in Chitalmari Upazila, 7991 men and 7451 female total 15446 illiterates of 15-45 years of age have been found.
